COP21: Action Day den 5 december 2015
During the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) on December 2014 in Lima (COP20), Christiana Figueres, the Executive Secretary of the UNFCCC, and Laurent Fabius, the President of COP21 were invited to organize a high level event to enhance the implementation of climate action.
The event will be convened on 5 December 2015 in Le Bourget. Building on the work done under the Lima-Paris Action Agenda, the Action Day will highlight the existing momentum for scaled-up engagement by non-state actor as well as state actors and show the power of multi-stakeholder action.
The Action Day has two main objectives: to showcase the most exemplary commitments and initiatives of non-state actors, especially in the framework of the LPAA, and to illustrate what a low-carbon, climate-change-resistant world could look like in 2050.
